In September of 2015, our beloved little maniac, Rafi, was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Sadly, Rafi did not respond well to the medication and passed away 3 weeks later. Rafi was 8 years old at the time and continues to live on in all the lives she's touched.
HCM is the most common heart disease in cats. It is believed to be an inherited disorder in most cases. Symptoms of HCM vary from cat to cat, but a heart murmur is commonly the first sign. Early detection and treatment generally lead to an improved prognosis for survival.
